What is DSIP?
DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a small nonapeptide first isolated in the early 1970s from the cerebral venous blood of sleeping rabbits, and named for its ability to induce sleep-like EEG delta-wave activity in recipient animals. It is one of the earliest characterised endogenous neuropeptides and remains a reference tool in circadian, sleep-architecture, and stress-axis research.
